I am a mechanical engineer with a passion for helping students gain a better fundamental understanding of the subject. I graduated from Cal Poly SLO at the top of my class with a 3.686 GPA cum laude, making the Dean's Honor List 8 quarters. I am a mechanical engineer with a passion for helping students gain a better fundamental understanding of the subject. I graduated from Cal Poly SLO at the top of my class with a 3.686 GPA cum laude, making the Dean's Honor List 8 quarters. I tutored while I was in college and helped students improve their subject understanding and class grades. Some of them even said they would not have passed without me. My favorite thing about tutoring is setting a solid foundational understanding of the subject, so that they can handle anything thrown at them in class. With engineering classes, students can tend to just rip through practice problems without refining their problem solving strategy and just focusing on getting the right answer. Getting the right answer is important, but the way you get there is far more important, and this is where I like to focus my tutoring efforts.

I believe that any subject I tutor for has something to be excited about, and I like conveying that to students. If you aren’t interested in the subject, it makes it much harder to do well in the class. Some teachers don’t do a good job explaining where you can apply what you are learning, and without knowing the reason for learning it, you lose a lot of motivation. I like to bring the motivation back. My favorite engineering courses to tutor are statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, vibrations, and fluid mechanics. Some other favorites are trigonometry and guitar. A fun fact(s) about me is I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and taught myself music theory and can learn almost any song by ear. I have an album up on Spotify, as well.

Please send me a note and let me know what you are struggling with or would just like a little help with. We can see if I’d be a good fit to tutor you and go from there! I would love to help you out.

I have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and I tutored for a few years while in college for courses such as statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, vibrations, and fluid mechanics. I got an A- or above in each class. My favorite courses to tutor are dynamics and statics. I have used concepts of statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials to design and test successful projects at my job and am very confident in my expertise.

Guitar

I have been playing guitar for over 10 years. I have taught lessons and have a few instructional videos on YouTube. I specialize in beginners and intermediate players looking to improve their skills and understand how music works. I can help with timing, strumming patterns, picking, fingerpicking, scales, chord shapes, soloing, music theory, and many other aspects of playing guitar.

Great teacher!

Very nice and super helpful! Gave me lots of good insight into methods of solving! Would definitely recommend as he helped me gain a stronger grasp of the material

Great tutor, Actually knows what he is doing

I studied Statics with Ryan because my professor gave me almost nothing to study with before a final and I was unsure about what to do.
