Hi! I'm Travis, and I'm currently an undergraduate at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. I plan on majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Music (I play clarinet). I come from an very small town in the eastern part of the state of Washington.

I'm really into mathematics, but that's probably clear from my choice of major. In high school, I took AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics and earned a perfect score on both exams; I scored a 35 on the ACT Math section and a perfect 800 on the Math Level 2 SAT Subject Test. I took Multivariable Calculus, and for some variety, I was on my school's math team. I also published a paper, titled "An Exploration of Pandivisible Numbers" in the mathematics journal "Parabola". But you get the point: I'm into math.

And I'd love to help you! I really enjoy helping others with mathematics; I get to share my passion. Because of this, I approach math tutoring in a slightly different way than others do. I emphasize understanding of concepts instead of emphasizing computation. To be sure, computation is important, and I help with that aspect as well, but computation will follow from understanding, whereas understanding will not follow from computation. Additionally, if students truly understand the material, they will be fully prepared for any question on a test.

Calculus

I studied AP Calculus BC and received a perfect score on the corresponding AP Exam. I also studied Multivariable Calculus and earned an A in the class. Throughout my time as a student, I helped my classmates with their questions and homework, ranging from help with a particular problem to overcoming a conceptual block. I can help with Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Multivariable Calculus. (Sometimes these are called Calculus I, II, III.)
Geometry,

Geometry

I earned an A in my Geometry class, and I scored a perfect 800 on the Math Level 2 SAT Subject Test, which tests, among other things, knowledge of Geometry. I also am qualified to tutor Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Calculus, so I can help show how these subjects all blend together.
Precalculus,

Went through a lot of material in a short time. Helped increase confidence.

My daughter said that they covered a lot of materials in one hour. The review made her feel confident that she can succeed in class. She’s a junior in Calculus BC among seniors who had Calculus AB, which she did not have. She also likes Travis. Well worth the money!
