My Background
I have always enjoyed meeting people of other languages and other cultures. My journey began with a foundation of studying Latin and German in high school and continued language learning at Washington State University in German disciplines and Education. I was selected as a WSU exchange student to Bonn, Germany. I graduated from WSU with a Bachelors of Arts, minoring in Spanish and Coaching. I taught German classes at the high school level for 7 years. For a few years after that, my family lived on a 10,000 acre cattle ranch and raised an extended family of 27 young people and 600 head of cattle. So you might say, I lived as a cowgirl herding cows on a horse!!! Moving back to town I took a break from classroom teaching and then supervised and mentored numerous parents, FAMILIES, MOMS, DADS and students with alternative educational pathways while raising my 5 sons in a small rural community. My Family and I have been twice to Russia, meeting wonderful people there. What I'm doing now...for fun? At this time I enjoy being out nature, boating, playing games with my grandsons and exercising at the gym.
My Current Professional Life
I am currently working at my profession as an ESL instructor at a community college for more than 15+ years. I love teaching and talking with students of other languages and getting to know them. In the last year I have worked for 2 Chinese online businesses. I love meeting these students! Everyone is unique and has their own gifting and special place. Teaching online is like a classroom without borders. I find it a very rewarding experience helping people achieve their personal goals and dreams with ENGLISH as a door for more opportunities.
I am a certified teacher in the State of Washington for grades Kindergarten- 12th grade. My Bachelor's degree qualifies me to teach in the Washington State Community Colleges. I am a certified CASAS cadre member which qualifies be to administer and proctor our state assessment test. I have 15 years of teaching all levels of ESL
