My name is Nickie and I have over 12 years' experience working with children of all ages (tutoring, teaching). I graduated in 2013 with my Master's in Elementary Education (in which I chose K-8th grade level because I really enjoy teaching kids during these grade levels). I work full-time and have a toddler that attends daycare, but I want to start teaching and tutoring for not just for the money, but because that is a passion that I have had for many years. I taught as a substitute teacher in Virginia from 2001 to the beginning of 2005 at several middle schools, and worked as a computer teacher at a private school school years 2005-2007. I also volunteered tutoring from 2009-2012 for both middle school and high school students that attended my local church in Virginia. I moved here to Washington state in 2014. I have the desire to gain knowledge from helping other kids learn the things that they need help in so they can grow and accomplish anything. I believe that any child can learn and I believe I can help them learn in a fun, exciting, and rewarding way. Thank you

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
