As a Slingerland Certified Teacher, I am well trained to help your child succeed. This multi-sensory method teaches using all of the senses and is an excellent and effective way to learn. As a Slingerland Certified Teacher, I am well trained to help your child succeed. This multi-sensory method teaches using all of the senses and is an excellent and effective way to learn. I start with the smallest unit of sight, sound and movement to teach all aspects of language which includes reading, hand writing, spelling, speaking, comprehension and composition.

I have been helping students succeed for over 20 years. I have a Master's in Education with both an ECE as well as an Elementary endorsement. I have worked with students in Pre-school through 8th grade. I also work well with children with special needs. I look forward to working with your child.

Very young students, enjoy song, movement and games to learn phonics and phonemic awareness, while older students, appreciate the Slingerland approach. I am a multi-sensory teacher and have worked with many ADD/ADHD children over the last 20 years. I am patient and kind. I have a knack for knowing what a child understands and what they don't. I use the Slingerland method for Language arts and also have many "best teaching" practices that where acquired during my Montessori based MEd training and various teaching experiences that cover the other subjects. Multi-sensory teaching works for ADD/ADHD children.

I am a Slingerland trained teacher/tutor. I have completed the 2nd year of the comprehensive multi-sensory training from the Slingerland Institute for Literacy. A multi-sensory approach utilizes best teaching practices for dyslexic students. This method works because each phonogram and phoneme are tied together using sight, sound and motion. The concept is taught from many different senses and is brought to functional use.

While teaching in Hawaii, I worked with many children who had special needs. I have also taken many workshops on the subject. The latest one that I have completed is the Slingerland training. This is a multi-sensory teaching method that works very well for special needs children. The training that I received at Chaminade was Montessori based. Although I am Montessori trained, I chose to work toward traditional teaching certificates.
