In my third year (Math)
Dear parents and students who are seeking a math tutor,
I am Nhung N. I am a student at Edmond Community College, and I just finished my AA in the Fall, 2013. I will transfer to UW Bothell to get my bachelor degree in math. I have experience in being a math tutor to middle school students in Vietnam; I was a math tutor when I was in EdCC. I currently help students with precalculus and algerbra.
I love math, and I am currently majoring in math. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA for my pre-calculus I & II, calculus I, II, III, IV, Differential Equations. I got 3.8 in my Linear Algebra. My current GPA is 3.90. I am planning to be a math teacher because I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences. I am confident that I can help students who are not good at math, and find an understanding for its importance in life.
Furthermore, I am highly responsible. Quality and excellence are what I seek when I do something; I always follow instructions provided by the lead, team leader, or supervisor and cooperate with my team in work.
I believe that my combination of my passion of math, my math skill, my high responsibility, my overall communication, and tutoring experience will help students improve their math skills and love math as I do.
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to review my experience. I hope that you find my experience, skill and interested, to fit the position you are seeking.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I remember when I help one of my student with algebra. At first, she told me she did not like math, and she knew nothing about it -she got D on her first exam. However, after working with me, I tried to explain the problem carefully, and walked her through the solution-instead of showing her how to solve the problems, I let her did them herself. Then, I pointed out why her mistake and we found the right solution together. It worked well because she got an A on her final and she told me "I love math now". It was great...!
I have succeeded with all of my calculus classes with 4.0. I am confident that I can help students with those classes.
I am very confident with Pre Cal because I have great experience and successful students. For instance, this quarter, I had a student who only got a 68 on her first exam. However, she got 90 after she worked with me for one and a half hours the day before her second exam. This is amazing. She was so happy, and she said, "When I worked with you, everything just became very clear." I am happy for her too, and I just love to tutor this course so much. Give me a chance to help. You will be happy and feel lucky to have me.
