Hi there!

My name is Danielle, and I am an enthusiastic teacher! I recently moved back to Leavenworth, WA, after having earned my Master of Science in Biology at Boise State University. During that time, I earned a graduate fellowship with the National Science Foundation, that focused on teaching scientists to convey science concepts to non-science audiences. This opportunity allowed me to work with a local non-profit environmental education center, where I taught students of all ages about scientific concepts, in both outdoor and classroom settings. During graduate school, I taught laboratory classes for undergraduate students, and earned Most Valuable Teaching Assistant in 2011.

I would love the opportunity to work with you and your learner on science concepts and beyond! As a Master of Science, I am also a published author in scientific journals, and have made countless presentations of my research to audiences of all kinds. Not only can I can help your learner with science, I am also a great teacher for reading and writing, and can help them with class projects and presentations, oral communication and computer skills.

I also am an herbalist, cook, German-speaker, and musician! I play flute and oboe and have taken cooking classes in macrobiotics, ayurvedic pracitices, and nutrition. I am also an avid Yogi, and have been practicing and teaching yoga for 10 years. One is never to old to learn a new skill, so please feel free to contact me with any questions!

As a teacher, I am an out-of-the-box kind of thinker, who will tailor my teaching style to you and/or your learner's needs. I realize that every person learns differently, therefore to successfully convey information and new skills, I will strive to make learning fun and accessible, while meeting our goals together. My teaching style is inquiry-based, which I believe to be much more engaging for the student, rather than simply memorizing facts. Through inquiry-based techniques, the learner is encouraged to think independently and creatively t
