I graduated with a BS in mathematics, and I am currently completing my Master's in Teaching for secondary mathematics. Throughout my experience in mathematics classes, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the concepts is the best way to get ahead in class. The way that math becomes intuitive for students is different for every student. So, when forming my lessons plans, I work with the student to figure out the style of teaching that works best for them. By building a strong foundation of math knowledge, students can then expand their understanding to more complicated types of mathematics. I am a firm believer that anybody, regardless of their current ability, can become an excellent math student given the proper teaching.

I have hundreds of hours of in class experience for mathematics classes in both high school and mathematics classes, ranging from remedial mathematics to precalculus. Throughout this experience I worked mainly in helping students who were struggling in the class as well as working with students who were previously in special education. I also have experience tutoring both K-5 students as well as students in special education, as well as 3 years of experience for tutoring undergraduate-level mathematics classes ranging from calculus to formal logic and real analysis. While I have specialized in tutoring (and teaching) mathematics I have also tutored others in high school-level Spanish and history classes.

I am very flexible in accommodating the different needs of students and parents, particularly during these times of COVID-19. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to finding the best path to success for my students, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Great Tutor! Wonderful Experience.

We went over many things pertaining to discrete and general mathematics. From basic algebra to recursion algorithms, Bayes Theorem, and more, Jonathan did a great job. He was able to patiently work through all problems I presented him with and was kind and supportive through all of it. He is very intelligent and you can tell he has a passion for teaching. Highly recommend him, I am sure you will get your moneys worth.
