I like to help students use skills they already know to help them to learn and master new material. I work with students to identify their learning style. Then I help students learn how to study new material using their learning styles so that it works to their strengths. I also like to work with students on how to identify the type of learning style their teachers use and how to strengthen their skill in styles that are not a strength for a student. I also like to work with students on how to identify the type of learning style their teachers use and how to strengthen their skill in styles that are not a strength for a student. When I talk about a learning style I am looking at if a student is a auditory, visual, or kinetic learner.

American History

During my senior year I did an independent study in American History; specifically the Civil War. When I first declared my college major I was a history major with an emphasis on American History. I changed majors and went into teaching for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students. However, I have continued with my love of American History. I have also tutored both college and high school students in American History, Geography and World History from the 13th century through the 21st century.
