Hiroshi has been tutoring my daughter in Japanese. She is taking Japanese 3 at her high school. Hiroshi is very nice and patient. My daughter sometimes goes in grumpy but always comes out in a great mood. When she has no homework problems, he easily finds something to work on. She is practicing conversation skills much more than they do at school, and her school teacher is impressed. Hiroshi is easily reached by cell phone. I highly recommend Mr. M.
I've greatly enjoyed working with Hiroshi to learn better Japanese. We don't use texts but instead meet at a coffee shop and simply talk. This isn't Hiroshi's usual teaching style, but he proved to be quite flexible and an enthusiastic teacher. He brings imaginative topics and gently corrects my Japanese by simply repeating it with corrections or suggestions. This is exactly how I wanted to learn. He often comes up with jokes, insights, and funny stories, which makes learning from him a pleasure.
Sensei M is a wonderful tutor - I can't say enough good things. He makes sure a strong base is established before moving forward with new material. He also takes into account past as well as future learning experiences and needs the student will have or has had. Sensei is on time, accommodating to your schedule, and most of all makes learning fun for your student. I highly recommend him!
In just a few sessions with Hiroshi, my daughter has drastically improved in the area he has been assisting in. She is gaining confidence and her test scores are now near perfect and even over 100% as she is attempting extra credit.
So far all of my lessons with Hiroshi have been great, he is very patient, friendly, funny, very easy to get along with, and actively looks for ways to connect with you to help engage in your learning and understanding of the language. I would recommend him to anyone.
I was looking for a tutor to help me learn the formal business vocabulary/grammar in Japanese. I also needed a lot of speaking practice, since it has been a while since I was last in Japan. Even though I imagine most of his students are at a more basic level, Hiroshi has been able to focus our lessons. Beyond that, he is a kind and encouraging tutor.
Hiroshi has been working with my son for a couple of months now, and both my son's grades and his confidence have noticeably improved. He is patient and easy to work with, and is very knowledgeable about the subject.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
