Larissa is a French-to-English translator. She speaks French as a first language having been raised in a French home, and speaks English equally well as a second language. Her French academic studies began early on from pre-school until elementary. After immigrating to the United States from Paris, France she continued her French studies in high school where she competed in and won first place in the U.S. National French Test competition (National French Language Education Group). After high school, Larissa continued taking French courses in college. Larissa plans to continue her studies at the University of Washington and earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
