I am currently a middle school special ed teacher and this is my 13th year! I am skilled in the latest research-based educational interventions and testing as well as being a behavior specialist. Prior to this job I was an elementary intervention prevention specialist and before that a parenting and family educator.
I understand all common core issues and am comfortable teaching a variety of subjects. I assess students before learning and upon completion so that all progress is tracked. I keep and provide weekly academic reports for parent/guardians. I typically get outstanding results, and I have never met a child that doesn't make progress! I believe that all children want to learn. Some just need a different way of learning and that is definitely my area of expertise! I look forward to becoming a part of you and your child's team.
I took elementary teaching classes and daily teach 6-8 grade math using all regular education textbooks.
I am an experienced, certified Special ed teacher. I teach in a small school and so have all students in one class--from autism to cerebral palsy to ADHD with defiance disorder.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
