Washington State University Pullman (History)
Universtity of Idaho (Master's)
I hold an MA TESOL from the University of Idaho, and a BA from Washington State University, in Pullman. I have delivered high quality English language instruction in the U.S., Egypt, Bulgaria, Morocco, Turkey and Tunisia. I have experience in the classroom at the university level, have enjoyed private tutoring, and led students in small group settings. I am happy to work with students of all ages, including adults. Teaching is my life, and currently I am busy designing an undergraduate course, writing a professional paper and training teachers in a language center in Egypt through skype. My favorite way to teach, however, is one to one tutoring because in this way, I can make a real difference in the lives of my students. I am well qualified to teach English, ESL, and History.
My students say they love working with me, and that I help build their confidence. I am familiar with the best and latest teaching methods, which have proven to advance my students quickly and painlessly. I believe in supporting my students so they can do their best, and offering them ways to improve themselves when I am not with them. I can easily detect pronunciation problems and can often correct them with just one suggestion. My students say I am their favorite teacher and that they feel comfortable working with me. Two young ladies I worked with over the summer in Tunisia found that they had advanced over and above their classmates, and one of them was promoted to accelerated classes. I hope to have the opportunity to help you to advance as well. I hold an MA TESOL from the University of Idaho, and a BA from Washington State University, in Pullman. During my undergraduate study, I took several anthropology courses, which included both cultural as well as physical anthropology, and received high marks for them. Anthropology is one of my favorite subjects to study and I believe I could teach it well. I also had many linguistic courses during my graduate study, which overlapped somewhat to anthropology.
While teaching ESL in Egypt, I was an evaluator for the IELTS exam. I know what is required, and I have an MA in TESOL, which qualifies me to teach all subjects in ESL.
While teaching ESL in the United States and other countries, I was engaged in the instruction of public speaking. My students were required to deliver a public presentation to an audience in a professional manner in order to pass to the next level. I had a high degree of success in helping them to achieve this goal. I hold an MA TESOL from the University of Idaho, and a BA from Washington State University, in Pullman.
