Greetings to my fellow learners. One of the things I love to do is to help others learn - it is my passion. I have tutored and taught classes for many years (over 20) both in the junior college classroom as well as one-on-one. I also love to learn from my students; this may surprise many, but students are a wonderful reservoir of knowledge for their mentors, and learning is part of teaching.
Having announced my passion for teaching, a little about me: over the years I have professionally taught as well as well as tutored math up to calculus, computer programming and general functions, basic guitar along with a little music, general business and finance, and last but not least, Microsoft Excel and Word.
As an ordained pastor, I hold an M.Div. in counseling and a Ph.D. in apologetics and theology, both of which enable me to teach Bible history, church history, and related Christian education subjects; many of which I do at the present time. In addition, I have assisted others to prepare for the GED exam and CLEP exams, within my knowledge base, including public speaking, English, reading, writing, and math.
I look forward to meeting new people and assisting them on the path of learning. Greetings to my fellow learners. One of the things I love to do is to help others learn - it is my passion. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold a Ph.D. in Apologetics and Theology and teach a Bible Study twice a week to 30 students. I also teach a Church History and Bible History classes every week to close to 30 students. As a pastor, I preach the Gospels every Sunday.
I started playing the guitar at 11 years old. I have played in rock bands, folk singing groups, and independently as a Gospel performer. I have taught incarcerated teenagers how to play as well as other young folks of my youth groups for several years.
Being a Professor of Apologetics (Ph.D.) as well as an active Chaplain, I maintain contact with students and staff utilizing Outlook. I have used Outlook for many years and I have taught Outlook to many people (one-on-one) who are new to Outlook. This teaching was critical in order for them to connect with the business community in which we work.
While serving in the U.S. Army, I was tasked to teach classes on weapons and forms, facing 200 plus students. I passed the CLEP on public speaking. I write a sermon and preach it every Sunday in front of more than 50 people at a time. I am comfortable in front of an audience and have helped others do the same.
The research performed for my master's degree and my Ph.D. taught me how to hone my study skills in order to complete those programs. I have taught others those methods in other venues as they are universal. My students have applied these techniques in graduate work as well as work related project research.
