Hello, my name is Jesse D. and my career started at Pierce College, Puyallup in Washington state. Here I got a degree in Business Management as well as certifications in Human Resources. Hello, my name is Jesse D. and my career started at Pierce College, Puyallup in Washington state. Here I got a degree in Business Management as well as certifications in Human Resources. After this I went off to CWU and this is where I graduated in June of 2020 with my bachelor's degree in Biology. After this, I started my own private tutoring business. I have been running this business and tutoring for two in a half years now, and can tutor almost any topic for a student between the grades of 1-12, and work with students anywhere from age 6 all the way through adult learners. I can work with college students and individuals trying to get their GEDs as well. I am experienced in all of algebra, as well as geometry, and can work with some Trig as well. Science is where my major was at in Biology, but I also am familiar with teaching all elementary, middle, and high school science as well as intro college. I can do 1 on 1 lessons remotely or in person if you reside within Kittitas County of Washington for the most part. I can also do small group learning sessions, though this may impact pricing. Alternatively, I am also familiar running the show more like a classroom setting as my years at CWU got me a lot of in class hours teaching. My methods and approaches can be summed up by my teaching philosophy, the three P's. Patience, because not everyone learns at the same rate and quality education cannot be rushed. I have been working with students who suffer from this since I first started my tutoring business, in fact my very first student had ADHD. He just graduated high school with As and Bs last year. I find the strategy to deal with this is regular breaks, a structure that is rigid enough to keep them focused while loose enough to allow for conversation, and in generally letting the student finish their thought before gently redirecting them back onto task. All of these strategies have worked well for me in the past.
