The greatest satisfaction I get as a tutor is watching the student, no matter what age, develop. I have achieved this in private and group session by tailoring my sessions to what the student (or Students) want to achieve. This could be learning the Guitar solo to 'Stairway to Heaven' or learning how to play cohesively in their band. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

This helps the student understand what they are playing and what division the beat is played within the bar.
