Hi! I’m Phoenix, a junior at Eastern Washington University pursuing a bachelor’s in elementary mathematics education with a middle-level math endorsement. I have experience tutoring K-11 students in reading, writing, phonics, and math, as well as college students in developmental math courses. Currently, I’m student teaching in a 5th grade classroom and working as a tutor in EWU’s Developmental Math Tutoring lab, where I help students with Algebra, math for elementary teachers, and basic statistics.
My teaching approach focuses on making math and literacy accessible and enjoyable. I break down concepts into clear, manageable steps and create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I tailor lessons to each student’s individual needs and always encourage a positive mindset toward learning.
I’ve worked with a variety of students—including volunteering with youth in foster care and going into a 3rd grade classroom to help students with math—and I’m passionate about helping every learner succeed. I’m easy to reach, respond quickly, and welcome any resources or suggestions from students or parents. Feel free to contact me with questions or to schedule a lesson!
