My paradigm as a teacher will always be to make myself progressively unnecessary.

I currently work as a professional writer and tutor. I've lived all over the United States, although I grew up in Scotland of all places. My scores on the SAT and ACT were perfect (1600 and 36 respectively), but I too had to work hard to get there, so I know what it's like when you're just starting out.

Over the years, I've studied with students suffering from ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, speech disorders, and depression; I personally grew up inured to social anxiety, so I can always empathize.

Some tutors will tell you that they know all the tricks and shortcuts. But really, there are no tricks. No shortcuts. Just hard work and sleepless nights and talking to yourself while brushing your teeth in the morning trying to remember the quadratics formula.

*****************************************************

I have a decade of experience teaching a panoply of subjects. In the sciences, that includes Biology; College Physics I (Mechanics, Elasticity, Fluids, Diffusion) and II (Electromagnetism, Circuits, Waves, Optics); Introductory Quantum Mechanics; and General Chemistry.

In Mathematics, I teach Real Analysis, Vector & Multivariable Calculus, Discrete and Finite Mathematics (Group Theory, Set Theory, Topology), Linear Algebra, and Probability & Statistics.

I absolutely love writing, of course, so I can also teach you how to write an action scene or listen to a poem.

*****************************************************

Studying is serious business. We will write essays. We will analyze passages. We will laugh in the face of all that is boring about standardized tests.

Simeon rocks!

Simeon is being incredibly helpful with our sophomore in high school helping him prep for the ACT! He assigns my son weekly homework and encourages him to develop new habits that will increase his math and reading skills!

Extraordinary tutor

Even though we just had one session with Simeon, we are very impressed by the way he taught. he is an excellent teacher, knowledgeable and patient. he is willing to tweak the teaching plan corresponding to the student's needs. Unfortunately, our schedule got conflict. I hope we could have him tutor the student in the future. Highly Recommend!

WEILA, 1 lesson with Simeon

Excellent, supportive and effective tutor

Simeon has been working with my 17-year-old on completing the requirements for Algebra II (which he missed during his exchange abroad) and preparing for next year's Precalculus course. They've established great rapport and moved quickly and efficiently through the material.

Smart and helpful, kept me interactive while teaching boring content. I cant wait to see how practice tests go and cant wait to see him again!

Review of Simeon - Highly recommend!!!

Simeon is very patient and really understands the content and how to best convey the meaning of the questions. This enables the student to better understand the context of the question and apply their knowledge of the subject.

Great SAT Prep

It was a great lesson from Simeon on Grammar and Reading. He began finding a week areas of the student and start focusing on improvement of those sections. Hope to hear more good lessons from Simeon.

Connected right away with one tough cookie

My daughter has Aspergers and really struggles with reading comprehension. Simeon connected with my daughter right away and knew exactly what to say to encourage and motivate her to keep practicing. The right teacher makes all the difference.

First Session was fantastic

My son has had one session with Simeon thus far and feels he is light years ahead of where he was in AP Stats! Scheduled the second session immediately. His approach from my listening from the kitchen was perfect for an 18 year old teen. Kept it light but productive at the same time.

Great Teacher!

Simeon S. was very patient with me & is very humorous! I love how he just started right away even though it was the first time we met. I think he will be my “power up” for this school year & through on out!
