About Emily

I am an elementary substitute teacher with an endorsement in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have worked with a variety of children aging from 6 months to 12 years old. I have been a part of tutoring and teaching since my freshman year in high school at Bellevue High. My main occupation before going to college was babysitting kids in the neighborhood. After I started attending college at Central Washington University I would work during the summer at summer camps. With all of these experiences with children I have combined a unique and fun way of approaching learning. I believe that a student can learn in a variety of ways (either by seeing the information, hearing it,or by working on a project with the information). I try to create a fun and connective approach to learning by using students' background knowledge and experiences. Part of my costs go to getting materials to help your child out! I love to see that "AHA" look on the child's face, and I know that you will too! I am an elementary substitute teacher with an endorsement in Teaching English as a Second Language. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I went to college to get my Bachelor's of Arts in education. While getting my degree, I completed the WEST E test subtest Elementary Education. I have passed and now have my teaching certificate.
