Science can seem hard and even intimidating, but this doesn't have to be true for you. Students that feel 'lost' are often lacking just a few critical pieces; put those pieces in place, and you're getting it! I can help you find those missing pieces and fill in the gaps.
I have been a high school teacher for 29 years. I have taught Biology and Chemistry my entire career and have received awards from WSU Vancouver and Stanford University in recognition of my teaching.
I have worked with all kinds of students, many of which have gone on to college and graduate school. I have had several student teachers that have benefited from my strategies. In addition to knowing my subject matter, I know the areas that students struggle with most often, and have several successful strategies to develop skills in these areas.
I love science and I love helping students that want to learn. I am familiar with local high school curricula, having taught in Battle Ground and Vancouver School districts for the past 22 years. My students will tell you that my classes are difficult, but FUN! Science can seem hard and even intimidating, but this doesn't have to be true for you. Students that feel 'lost' are often lacking just a few critical pieces; put those pieces in place, and you're getting it! I can help you find those missing pieces and fill in the gaps.

Robert is very patient and has in-depth knowledge he is able to convey in an understandable way to my son, a high school junior. Robert also takes the time to explain in detail the content of the tutoring session and an analysis of how his student is faring.
Robert is very knowledgeable in chemistry. He presents the information in a way that is interesting and easy to understand. I enjoy working with Robert and look forward to our tutoring sessions.
Mr Robert identified strengths and weaknesses immediately and made plan for my student's future Biology units. He is a skilled communicator and approaches the subject matter from a perspective tuned to the student's needs.
My son is meeting with Robert and found an instant connection with him. My son was thrilled with his style and his ability to help him understand the material.
Very professional and high level of ability to transfer information and knowledge in a practical way that students can assimilate it quickly.
We are very happy with Robert's tutoring! He is very knowledgeable in Biology and his teaching experience shows. Glad we found him!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
