Hanyang University (Korean education)
I am a Korean native speaker with a background in education. I possess more than 5 years of progressive experience in the Korean Language field. My professional history includes positions such as Korean Language and Literature teacher as well as Designer of Korean Textbooks and on-line Korean teacher.
Providing knowledge about the Korean language as well as explanations of relevant aspects of Korean culture allows my students to easily acclimate to Korean culture in everyday life. I use various current materials including K-dramas, Webtoons, Text messages, Movie posters, even Pop-songs to maximize the interest and participation of my students which leads to great improvements in my student’s learning level.
My Philosophy of Teaching
- I will get to know my student’s strengths, weaknesses and backgrounds to be able to meet their individual needs
- My lessons are student centered and are based on active learning.
- I believe in providing my students with cultural explanations to help them grasp the Korean language.
- Asking questions and making mistakes are both steps towards our learning goals.
This year I want to reach more students who want to learn Korean and help acquaint them with Korean culture. Additionally, I will continue to create Korean learning curriculums which contain current learning materials and resources. In the near future, I plan to create a website that will benefit Korean learners internationally. I am a Korean native speaker with a background in education. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
