An Electrical Engineer with a great understanding of Math and science!

My name is Maurice and I am a recent graduate from Eastern Washington University. I was a math tutor for two years at the university and I have loved tutoring since then. My goal is to help a student not only pass but understand the practicality of the subject in real life. I have a math minor and also graduated with an engineering bachelors that require competency in the math field. My greatest joy as a tutor is the aha! moment you see on a student when they finally understand something.

As a PLUS (Program Leading to University Success) facilitator I led groups of up to 20 students at especially during midterm and finals week. I worked with professors on areas to focus on and led extra exam prep sessions. I encouraged students to email me anytime with questions and as a fellow student at the time I was always at the library doing my homework and helped any student that interrupted me. I go over all the course work and develop a syllabus of topics that students have struggled with. I make sure that students understand that tutoring is not for just homework but an opportunity to better understand what they already know.
