I'm a retired Executive looking to tutor others. I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics, and enjoy sharing my love of math with others. I am good with children, teens, and adults. I am comfortable with most areas of math through the undergraduate level.

I also have excellent skills in PowerPoint and Word, as well as presenting materially both

Jane is so smart, personable, and supportive.

Every time I leave a tutoring session I have so much more confidence. My grades are getting better and I'm actually pretty excited about math, now, thanks to Jane.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am qualified to tutor in Algebra 2. I currently teach the equivalent class at Northwest Indian College. I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Washington, and taught the equivalent class numerous times during my graduate studies. I have a good understanding of the kinds of material that trips up Algebra 2 students, as well as the kinds of remediation needed to correct the situation.

I currently teach Biostatistics at a local college. I can tutor the course either with an emphasis on medical applications, or on ecological applications.

I have done considerable work in Differential Equations. My Ph.D. is in Several Complex Variables, but I used considerable amounts Differential Geometry and Theory of Differential Equations to get it. I also know many applications of Differential Equations, such as signal processing.

Discrete Math is a very broad topic. It can include computer algorithms and complexity theory. I have taken graduate level courses in Discrete Math at University of Washington. I used Discrete Math in my previous technical jobs to analyze telephone systems.

I enjoy geometry. I always have. I am an expert in the field, but also enjoy many of the applications of geometry, and can explain these very well. Geometry shows up in Art, Surveying, Travel routes, Map making, GPS systems, Routing of delivery trucks, etc.

While in graduate school, I taught Linear Algebra at University of Washington. I really like this subject, and can work with students to understand how it relates to subjects such as computer graphics, multivariate calculus, and physics.

I have taught precalc many times. While in graduate school, I taught the large class of precalc; I was the first graduate student to do this. (Lectures were given to 500+ students, and required coordinating 8 other teaching assistants.)

I have taught college level math and computer science classes, both undergraduate and graduate level courses. I have also taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Trigonometry numerous times.
