About John

I graduated from UVM with a Mechanical Engineering degree. I work locally and would love to do some tutoring. During schooled I TAed a few courses and found that one on one lessons were both productive and fun. I am studying for my FE this summer. My skill sets are geared towards math, physics, engineering, logic and computer science. I feel that my having recently gone through a program, I may have good advice for whomever may be pursuing a higher level degree. My experience suggests that if you want to do well in higher level science courses, taking time learning the fundamentals will be important and specifically having a strong grasp math, physics, chemistry and computer science will help you achieve the degree you're hoping to attain.

I have taken Prealgebra, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Symbolic Logic and many courses which require these as prerequisites. Engineering is a cumulative trade and requires knowledge on all mathematical subjects.

Mechanical Engineering was my concentration and I was a teaching assistant for a Physics I class. I am specifically versed in dynamics, statics, electronics, optics, electromagnetism, and material structures.

I have programmed in multiple programming languages. All are fairly similar to one another. Python was one of my first and a good language to learn. I can teach how to do If Statements, For Loops, While Loops, GUIs and more.

Feel free to contact me. I would love to help you achieve the confidence you want while preparing for whatever it is you are hoping to achieve.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
