I have a license through the state of Vermont in elementary education. I have experience teaching first through fourth grades. I am also certified through the National Institute of Learning Development as an educational therapist. NILD educational therapy differs from tutoring in that cognitive and perceptual weaknesses are strengthened to support independent learning. This approach is individualized and intensive mediated learning. The decision about whether a child needs educational therapy or tutoring would be decided depending on the child's needs.
I also have a degree in music from Ithaca College, specifically piano. I have had a piano studio for 20 years and students have ranged in age from preschool to retirement age.
