I love reading, expanding my vocabulary, and incorporating newly learned words into casual conversation. I have worked with high school and elementary school students, and am good at adapting to the age group I am working with.
I believe extensive feedback is of the utmost importance for young people trying to learn difficult subjects, and I push my students to succeed while accommodating their needs. I also believe effective teaching is a two way street, and the key to self-reliance. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
