As a recent college graduate and current student at a respected science teaching certificate program, I am uniquely qualified to be an excellent tutor. While most familiar with environmental science and biology, I am also able to tutor in most other sciences and maths (excluding pre-cal and beyond).
My college tutoring experience includes tutoring classmates and friends in genetics, chemistry, environmental ethics, and introductory biology. I also mentored three freshmen in my lab, introducing them to my study organism, reading and analyzing scientific journals, and field and lab methods. At Antioch University, I am currently studying how to create inquiry-based lessons for middle and high school, as well as community ecology and earth systems.
In college, I completed statistics and honors calculus with high marks, both of which require a strong understanding of algebra. While those two subjects require constant use to be proficient with, I retain a strong understanding of basic algebra.
I have completed numerous classes in the sciences, such as earth systems science, GIS, ecology of disease vectors, genetics, and evolution, among others. I also actively pursue new knowledge in my free time, and am particularly interested in astronomy, small electronics and programming (though these have taken a backseat to my studies).

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
