Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary Math

I spent three years working as a math classroom tutor with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. I was a long-term substitute for 5th grade math and science. I designed and taught a math curriculum for a second grade student on an IEP. I have three years experience as a high school paraprofessional working in general math classes, basic algebra classes, and algebra 1 classes.

Prealgebra

I have 6 years of experience as a para in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math as well as algebra and geometry classes at the high school level.I have also tutored both middle and high school students in math outside of a school setting.

My daughter has had four lessons and she is always so happy after her algebra lessons! I am so pleased that at last algebra is making sense to her.
