University of Phoenix (Early Education)
Hello, my name is Debbie. I have raised three children and have seven grandchildren. I am currently receiving my education in early education. I would like to teach reading. I think it is important for everyone to know how to read and read well. Reading is the foundation for all other studies. If someone does not read well they will not succeed in other areas. I love reading and would like to share my love with others. I will base my tutoring on skill building in vocabulary, pronunciation, and overall practice. I believe the key to a successful reader is to practice reading with material the student in interested in. I will be using material that the student has chosen and will have other suggestions to choose from. The amount of time spent on reading practice is important and I intend to use that time efficiently. Remember it is not the level of reading someone is at right now it is the level you can reach by practicing and learning the fundamentals of reading. I am available to tutor anyone in reading at your convenience.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
