I love to help people learn math!
I have ten years of experience teaching high school and college level math. I've taught everything from pre-algebra to college Calculus and linear algebra. I have an M.S. in math from Cornell University and a B.A. in math and education certificate from Swarthmore College.
I know that math can be a real challenge for many people, but I have confidence that you can conquer your math class, and with luck we might even have fun in the process!
When I tutor, I'm able to give targeted help exactly where you need it. I find out what your specific difficulties are so that you can get past them and succeed now and in your future math classes. I help you with what you're working on right now in your classes, but I also help you with foundations and concepts that will help you be successful on your own.
I believe that you'll learn more if you're enjoying the process, so I try to make it fun and interesting. But I also believe that you should get the most out of your money, so I don't waste time-- we can learn and have fun efficiently and productively!
I look forward to working with you--together we can get you through your math class with stellar success! I love to help people learn math!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a masters of divinity (M.Div.) from Harvard Divinity School, where I focused on Hebrew Bible interpretation. I am currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Denver and Iliff School of Theology, where I focus on Biblical Interpretation, and have been a teaching assistant. I also have experience leading Bible studies in congregational settings.
I have over five years of Biblical Hebrew coursework at the graduate level. I received my M.Div. from Harvard University and I am getting my Ph.D. at the University of Denver and Iliff School of Theology. Both programs included in-depth coursework in Biblical Hebrew. I am qualified to teach Biblical Hebrew at the masters level.
In addition to taking linear algebra for my undergrad degree, as well as courses that use linear algebra, I recently was a teaching assistant in a linear algebra course at the University of Denver. I taught one day per week, held office hours, and graded quizzes and homework for the course.
I have an undergraduate minor in religion. I also have a graduate degree in religion, a Masters of Divinity, from Harvard Divinity School. My emphasis was in topics in Judaism and Christianity, but I also have significant education in Buddhism and general issues of religious studies and world religions.
