My background is more than fifty years' experience in drawing, the publication of hundreds of my drawings in periodicals and books and the teaching of drawing in the university. In my 25 years as a University Art Professor, I taught numerous sections of Art 101, the basic introductory drawing class in the Department of Art, San Francisco State University. I served on Master of Fine Art Committees for graduate students specializing in Drawing. My own drawings in the form of editorial cartoons were published and nationally syndicated in the 1960s. Most recently I illustrated a book with twenty-six original pen and ink drawings.
My qualifications for teaching film is my study in the Motion Picture Division of UCLA, two degrees in Film (BA and MFA), working on scores of academic and professional films in Hollywood, the award of dozens of awards at major international film festivals for films which I created (directed, photographed, edited, etc.) and teaching film at the University for a score of years.
My qualifications for teaching painting are fifty years of experience as a painter in oils, acrylics, watercolors, etc. I studied in the College of Fine Art, UCLA. I have taught painting at the university.
My qualifications for teaching photography are: study of photography at UCLA, teaching photography at San Francisco State University for more than 25 years as a full time tenured Professor of Art; exhibition of my photographic works of art at museums and galleries here and abroad and collected by many museums of fine art. Further, the writing of a 14 volume encyclopedia of photographic art commissioned by a major publisher. I am Professor Emeritus of Art at SFSU.
