University of Vermont
American Intercontintal University (Master's)
Hello, prospective students and parents. I began working with children more than 30 years ago. I graduated from the University of Vermont with a double major in Spanish and Latin American Studies. Before becoming a mother, I taught in a private school setting. In 2006 I completed my Masters Degree in Education.
I successfully homeschooled my oldest daughter through the high school level, and continue to educate the youngest, who is currently in 10th grade. This decision has afforded me significant experience in personalizing lesson plans to meet individual learning styles and objectives. Additionally, I have successfully tutored students in a variety of subjects. I believe that learning should be tailored to meet individual needs through creative efforts. I love to read and I love to learn. I would love to share this enthusiasm with you and your child in order to assist you and them in reaching current educational goals. I look forward to meeting you and working with your child. Hello, prospective students and parents. I began working with children more than 30 years ago. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I successfully home-schooled my oldest daughter through Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Content included exponents, the distributive property, factoring, graphing linear equations, polynomials, the Pythagorean Theorem, quadratic equations, word problems, lines and segments, congruent triangles, quadrilaterals, proofs, etc. Most recently I completed Saxon Algebra 1 with my younger daughter; we will complete Geometry this year. I look forward to working with you and your child.
I have successfully homeschooled both of my daughters throughout K-6th grade. We explored a range of topics and curricula to meet and exceed state mandates. I enjoy tailoring lessons to meet specific interests of individual students.
I have successfully home-schooled both of my daughters in math, one now in college, the other in 10th grade. Additionally, I have successfully tutored other students who had fallen behind or were struggling with math.
I successfully tutored my older daughter through high school math and am currently homeschooling my 15-year-old in Geometry. We are using the McDougal-Littell text.
