Hi, great to meet you!

Feeling that you might need some help? NO problem. YOU CAN learn anything you want or need to. Having over 25 years of experience in all areas noted in my title, I have taught all ages, from K to collegiate students. Though I took all educational and clinical initial coursework for Nursing, I always had a passion to teach, and was given an opportunity at a private college when just 19 years old!

From then on, I taught in elementary, secondary schools, Vocational schools, and Private and Public Colleges.

My BA in Ed. and MA in Psyche, were earned at non-traditional schools. I spent much time learning all the various styles that students learn by...we are not all visual or auditory learners. In fact, until I went to a non-traditional school, I never imagined how different learning could be when teachers don't "make" you read this or that. In total I have been to five various colleges...as I took some writing classes, and further classes in counseling, computers, etc.

It's empowering when you realize that you are not limited to learning by certain mandated books, lectures or exactly what is on the syllabus. Once I experienced the choices I had as a "life long student", reading and learning became a pleasure, not "purgatory"!

My writing has always been another passion. My sister is a journalist/editor and is self-employed. Many people have read my “writings,” from journals to citations, portfolios to my graduate thesis, and more. Many people have encouraged me (including the Peer Review Panel that licensed me as an Educator), to "write" as they have expressed the extensive knowledge, experience, types of humor, and that I able to "tackle tastefully" subjects which are controversial to taboo, or simple to complex, of fact or fiction, and my writing to them, (ha!) is exemplary. I have started my first book...we shall see!

My "mission" is to help you find passion in what you want to learn, or how you might want to learn something. Do you like to read,or do you prefer to hear information? Does art help explain things? How about diagrams or pictures, stick figures or models? I am someone who wants to inspire and challenge you, but also, motivate you to feel the reward, value and insight, into the relevance of what you learn, as it relates to your scholastic, career or personal goals.

I am anxious for the the opportunity to be partners as we share in the learning process. If I didn't believe that learning could be enjoyable, I certainly wouldn't have written this note. I know well that that the hardest part of being stuck--is like everything else in life--and that is, in the admitting that it's feeling we need help, yet how are we going to keep it "secret"? Think about it; do you know anyone who has never needed help with something in their lifetime? NOT.If we don't ask for help when needed, life has a funny way of teaching us that we best get real..cause life teaches us reality whether we want it to, or not.

No one can do or know everything-we are all a bit limited by being HUMAN! You and I will both make mistakes, forget something, be late, you name it....So let's accept that, and work together,to conquer any issues, from self confidence to subject matter, to study skills or communication. All are critical in life. Remember, everything you are, and will be in life, is going to be "up to you". You are the only one who can change you. My part is to help you trust your own goodness, open and wise mind and kind heart. Then you too, can someday pass forward, this kindness to another in need!

Stay kind of heart and clear and awaken your mind! Sharon
