I am a retired medical professional and educational therapist. The combination of educational training mixed with my neurological background has given me a unique set of skills and experience with which to work with students in this arena. I will provide a comprehensive evaluation of your student, provide you with a written report, and attend IEP meetings as needed. I have thoroughly enjoyed the work I have done over the years and have enabled students with various learning difficulties achieve their academic goals and increase their desire toward their future endeavors!

I have enjoyed working with students throughout the school districts on the Lower Peninsula for the last 13 years. Being well-versed on the subject requirements of each grade throughout the school districts assists me in planning. I have evaluated students and implemented academic plans that have successfully improved their outcomes as much as 2.5 grade levels. The additional benefit of the student's academic progress is their increased self-esteem and motivation toward schoolwork.

My extensive background working with neurologically impaired individuals has given me the knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and the specific interventions that have proven successful in the Special Needs population. I have worked with children who experience learning disabilities, cognitive processing disorders, ADD/ADHD, and sensory integration disorder. Additionally, I have provided tutoring to elementary-aged children in the areas of reading, phonics, spelling, and math. I have received training and obtained an Educational Therapist certificate.

I provide quality service for my students and their families and avail myself to meet their needs within reason. While I request a 24 hour cancellation notice, I often am able to reschedule tutoring makeup sessions.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to meet your academic goals!
