I graduated summa cum laude from Samford University with a B.A. in History (2014) and from Beeson Divinity School with an M.A. in Theological Studies (2016). I recently completed a second Master's in Religion, concentrating in philosophical theology, from Yale Divinity School (2018).

I have always loved teaching and learning. I tutored underclassmen in writing, reading comprehension, and Spanish during my time at Samford. I think one of the benefits of tutoring is the opportunity to individualize the learning experience. Oftentimes, a student is able to comprehend his or her material, but the methods utilized in the classroom are not the most compatible with the student's learning style. In other cases, a student simply needs additional time to process a concept and repetition to solidify its place in his or her memory. One of the most rewarding things about tutoring is seeing students grow in intellectual confidence as they realize that they are competent to comprehend and communicate the material. Tutoring helps students not only grow academically but also personally.

Incredible Tutor

Lydia is patient and kind. My daughter says when she doesn’t understand something, Lydia encourages her with smiles. She has learned quite a bit in only a few sessions. My daughter looks forward to her sessions with Lydia and is growing confident in math. I feel so fortunate to have found her. :)

Great Tutor

Lydia, has done an amazing job helping our son with learning disabilities "Asperger" to understand how to break the test down. He is quickly developing both test taking and study strategies. My son very much likes working with Lydia and has commented more than once that she make it easy for him to understand. My main goal was to find a tutor that would help him build his confidence and I would give Lydia N a A+++ I will be happy to recommend Lydia N to other's!
