College of William and Mary (Classics)
I am a senior from the College of William and Mary majoring in Greek and Latin language while studying for nursing school after graduation. I am at home in the area this summer and free to tutor students from kindergarten through high school, and some college classes too. I have years of experience tutoring grade school and high school students in writing, reading, Latin, and mathematics (through calculus I). I can also competently tutor biology, chemistry and physics. Finally, I scored highly on the SAT and can help students study for it.
Most recently, I worked as a tutor for fellow college students through William & Mary's peer tutoring program. As an older child from a big family, I truly enjoy teaching students of all ages. I am capable of interacting with and teaching the student so that he or she becomes engaged in the material, knows his or her strengths and weaknesses, and learns to achieve mastery of the subject material.

This teaches the student how to approach academics with individual motivation and will remain relevant to academic success well into college. Hello,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
