I am a Physical Education instructor with a wide range of experiences having taught at home and abroad. My teaching method incorporates mild to moderate exercise. I have also some training in the United States Army. I can incorporate a dietetic program if the student desires. I am very interested in training young adults aspiring to enter the Armed Forces. My degree spans ages 5-18 as a Physical Education instructor. I have a Collegiate Professional Certificate in the State of Virginia that will expire June 2016.
I do have a love for music too and would love to incorporate music with the training, if the student so desires. I would also be interested in teaching in a homebound setting. I played clarinet throughout my high school career and did attempt to write music. My music also spans the gamut of Clarinet playing to private lessons as a baritone. Another interesting thing about me is my upbringing on the old hymns but also have a love for the new contemporary style of music.
As a graduate student in a Linguistics program, I had training in language recognition. I would like to be some help to those individuals that are new immigrants to the United States. I was very fortunate to do a three year community service project as an ESL teacher in the state of Tennessee. My students hailed from Europe, Asia (India) Central, and Latin America. The project or program was organized by the Hamilton County Baptist Association. I also did some substituting in an ESL Class in the public school system in Chattanooga Tennessee.
During my time in the Seminary I was fortunate to have an opportunity to learn sign language. My Seminary had a hearing impaired population of almost 100 individuals.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I attended Tennessee Temple Baptist Seminary from 1978-89. I have taught Bible studies as a missionary in the South Pacific (Papua New Guinea) and Canada. My Bible studies consist of ages 6-20 years of age. I also begun a preaching ministry age 25. I am now age 61 and lead studies when asked. I have an associate's degree in linguistics and had been certified in sign English.
I began training in Clarinet at age 11 and ended my clarinet playing at age 24. I picked up my Clarinet about age 26 while attending a seminary. I played in a church band and later took costly private clarinet lessons. I now play only if there are special services in church.
I began as a Physical Education Instructor in 1978. I believe in vigorous exercise three times a week and a good diet. I have been privilege to work under some good teachers also.
My track and field qualifications began as a 14 year old boy. I ran the 800 yard in 2:10 my first try. I ran a 1:14.9 500 yard run the national High School record was 1:11. I jumped 18 feet as a 14 year old.
I set at my grandmother's knee at age 10 to listen to Bible stories. During my 11th year I read an entire Children Bible story book that was ordered for my brother and I. As a young adult I read through the Bible. I often read through the Bible every 4 years and have done such since age 21. I am now age 60 and plan to begin next year. I attended a seminary at age 24 and stayed until age 30. I also studied Bible in Canada at age 46. I studied linguistics in Missouri (New Tribes) school at age 50. I forgot to mention I did a Bible study in Papua New Guinea for tribal youth at age 42.
I often put time in with teens for Bible Study.
I have taught a number of TEFOL (adult) and Youth in Tennessee. I begun my TEFOL program at Old Dominion. I believe I can be of help to you Ali. I am now retired at this time
I had the great privilege of almost making it to the city Spelling Bee as a Third Grader, then going on to other cities but my mother as a single mom didnt have the time to help. I do remember an aunt visiting from New York My mother younger sister. My Aunt aided me in memorizing an entire lead part in a Christmas play. Wish Auntie could have been around for my Third grade Year. I did very well in my Greek class in vocabulary as a graduate student. I often earned no less than 8 out of a ten work Greek vocabulary quiz
