Ms. Maggie was born in Jinan, China and completed her first Science English college degree before coming to the US. She graduated from George Mason University and received her second bachelor degree majoring in Finance.
She has been teaching Mandarin Chinese language for twelve years to individuals and in classroom settings to children from preschool kids to high school students. Throughout her years of teaching Chinese, she is one of the very few teachers who has received the award of experienced teacher from Wei Hwa Chinese School. Now, she is a full-time Chinese language teacher in a private school of Virginia.
In addition she has received the award of excellent teacher of the entire Eastern region of the US for 2 years. Ms. Maggie has worked in Edlin School, Reston as a part time Chinese teacher since September, 2015. She plans, designs and implements first-ever Chinese program for students in kindergarten – 8th grade, develops and tailors curricula for three separate levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced); and teaches Chinese in an accelerated, highly-interactive learning environment
Her outstanding and passionate teaching style has inspired the students to learn the language with great interest and to be willing to work hard. She has lot of experiences in motivating her students to learn a new language through playing funny games, watching cartoon designed PowerPoint teaching material, and singing children songs. In order to make the difficult phonics and various teaching objects easy to remember, she even makes up songs to help her students to quickly learn and memorize them. Her creative way of teaching always makes learning an interesting process. She expects her students to both excel in academic areas and enjoy the process of learning Chinese language and culture.
She has 10 years experience teaching Chinese. She is experienced in both one-on-one and classroom settings. She has the strong ability to design knowledge-based engaging class games. She can motivate student interest in learning Chinese. She can teach Chinese speech and story-telling, enabling the class to win first place in the Washington, DC- area speech competition.

Usually my tutoring rate is $50 per hour per student, but consider of the fees this website will charge from me so I set up $60 per hour per student. Group study will have discount.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
