I specialize in training and performance improvement. I hold a PhD in Education, a Master of Public Administration, a Bachelor's of Science in paralegal studies, and an Associate's in Arts in business administration. In conjunction with nearly 23 years of judiciary employment, I feel that the aforementioned studies and my professional experience have equipped me to effectively tutor students in the following disciplines: government and policy, law, business and other general educational courses.
My greatest strengths are in economic analysis, forecasting and assessing business return on investment initiatives, technical training, performance and training improvement analysis and consulting, systems development, performance benchmarking, and business/program auditing and evaluation.
I also have a zealous passion for assisting with academic development through knowledge-sharing and knowledge-transferring methods. I have worked as a substitute teacher in three counties. I anticipate the opportunity to work as a tutor for such will enhance efforts to polish my employee brand in the educational field.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In the Spotsylvania County Schools system, I substitute teach for the Behavioral Science Program for students at the K-8 levels for approximately 2 years.
I am an active substitute teacher who instructs students with autism at the K-5 level in the Spotsylvania County Public Schools system. I have worked with approximately 10 students with autism. I am trained to use special instructing techniques that motivate autistic students to retain subject-matter information in enjoyable and creative methods. I find most autistic students are very bright, but learn in different ways. As you may know, there are different learning styles but the primary goal is to obtain and demonstrate knowledge.
I have a Bachelors and Associate in Arts degrees in Business Administration. I also worked as a supervisor of a retail store for approximately two years. Duties consisted of various business functions, such as bookkeeping, schedule planning, interviewing potential sales associates, projecting and forecasting goals in sales, and replenishing merchandise via requisitions.
I hold a graduate degree and actively substitute teach in the Stafford County Public Schools and Spotsylvania County Public Schools systems. I also substitute for para-educators assigned to autistic students. Working with students at any level require resilience, patience and compassionate interest in training and development. I profess that I hold each of those qualities. I find the inquisitive minds of K-6 students quite intriguing. They motivate me to share knowledge and religiously assist with strengthening their skills.
I am a doctoral student working on my dissertation. I have successfully completed several advanced English syntax and writing courses with very high marks. I have also worked in the legal field for more than 25 years and excelled in performing duties entailing advanced legal writing and analyzing legal documents incorporating broad use of vocabulary.
Working within judiciary systems provided extended experience in government policies and structure. Having a broad background in the legal field also enhanced my knowledge about historical factors concerning implemented laws, policies and rules.
My higher educational accomplishments offered a strong development in English syntax, grammar, and vocabulary. In addition, working in professional settings, specifically with judges and attorneys, broaden my vocabulary through conversations and business correspondence.
I worked in legal environments for more than 26 years. I enjoy helping others and this field demands outstanding customer/client relation skills. My most enjoyable subject is Employment Law. I thrive on defending the underdogs. I have observed a plethora of trials, hearings, and other proceedings, e.g. Bush v. Gore, United States v. Noriega, and Elian Gonzalez v. INS. Moreover, I have prepared numerous legal documents and correspondence, i.e., interrogatories, answers and responses, motions, retainer letters, notices, court orders and opinions.
I have been using Microsoft Access for approximately 7 years to perform both work-related tasks and personal tasks. In one situation, I assisted an operations consultant with designing an auditing sampling program via Access software. The primary feature was to randomly draw a valid sample from case management data I input that represented the targeted population subjected to future audits. The Access audit sampling program superseded an obsolete program that was used via the Paradox program, and it was less convoluted and more user-friendly than the Paradox program.
I have used Microsoft Excel (Excel) in work settings and at home. I have taken several Excel courses. I also created statistical spreadsheets using Excel for academic and work-related projects. Other documents I developed through Excel include directory listings and tables consisting of statistical data, bars, charts and graphs.
I use Microsoft PowerPoint for several tasks. For example, I have prepared training presentations for work-related projects and dissertation committee conference call presentations for academic purposes. I have also used PowerPoint to create a slide show to outline a training manual. I find that Adobe Captivate has similar features of PowerPoint. I can show you how to use several features, such as the radio button and animations (including transition schemes).
I am a dinosaur user of Microsoft Word (Word). It was first introduced within the work environment. Since then, I have used it both at work and home for numerous years that may date back to or near the time of invention. Moreover, I have taken courses to stay abreast of the new and improved changes offered in new release versions. Although it does not perform every function, many features in certain versions of Word are comparable to features of Microsoft Publisher and Access.
I have taken public speaking courses. I also have presented seminars and conferences and facilitated various workshops. I delivered various overviews of studies and programs to judicial court staff during meetings, conferences and seminars.
I am an avid reader. I enjoy all literary subjects. Moreover, academic studies introduced me to various subject matters through the reading of required seminal works in those subjects, ranging from business, economics, law, psychology and statistics. For personal enjoyment, I like reading romance, suspense, and motivational, self-help books. One of my favorite books is "Awakening the Giant Within," by Anthony "Tony" Robbins. Encouragement to accomplish goals in life comes from first by believing in yourself.
In four school systems (Spotsylvania, Stafford, Caroline and Fredericksburg, VA), I substitute teach for K-8 students in the Special Education program.
I am a sharp "speller." I have taken various English, writing and composition courses: English Composition I and II, Advanced Writing for Graduate Students, English Composition and Syntax, and Business English. I demonstrate this skill on a daily basis while performing work-related tasks and completing graduate school assignments. I also have taught spelling (vocabulary) lessons to elementary students in several lesson plans, i.e., flash card games, crossword puzzles, sight and word find games posted to easels.
I believe I display a broad vocabulary in both speech and writing. I worked in various positions, for example, warranting public speaking and frequently responding to inquiries in person, telephonically and in writing. Thus, I often displayed the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, especially with use of proper grammar and appropriate vocabulary along with having a knack for flexing to understand the specifics conveyed. Many of my interactions were with judges, attorneys, litigants, jurors, the media, and interested persons.
