Dear Potential Student and Your Parent;

My life is full of experiences that have helped me become a better teacher. I worked in retail for years where I learned the value of being nice to others. I've studied art and architecture where I've learned to analyze the facts and look at the intent of the artist to understand the long term effects of their art. Dear Potential Student and Your Parent;

My life is full of experiences that have helped me become a better teacher. I worked in retail for years where I learned the value of being nice to others. I've studied art and architecture where I've learned to analyze the facts and look at the intent of the artist to understand the long term effects of their art. I now translate that skill into my current teaching methods teaching young readers and writers what we need to note and why. And when I worked on the engineering team that produced XBOX, I helped them while teaching them to use WORD products, accounting programs and file their paperwork in an organized manner. I learned more about collaboration as their assistant than I did as a teacher.

I grew up in Cincinnati, moved to northern Ohio to attend college the first time where for financial reasons I was forced to reexamine my values and my degree choice. I moved farther north to work in retail where I was recognized for my sales and training abilities. However, I felt unsatisfied. Chasing clothes, money and shoes was not making me happy. So I finished my undergraduate college education in Detroit Michigan and moved to Virginia to pursue a master’s degree in the history and research field; and, then, opened my own business in Charlottesville, Virginia combining my administrative and customer service experience with my analytical, reasoning and theoretical experience to help small businesses succeed in a time when many would fold. I found myself training my clients to be more organized, better at QUICKBOOKS and what to do in a business crisis. However this business venture wasn't lucrative enough in such a small town to sustain me and I felt the urge to teach so I went back to school (UVA) and earned another masters so I could teach young people the strategies to succeed in the world. I’ve been successfully teaching teenagers the tools for success in life and in school for over 10 years now.

I love watching my students grow and succeed as they mature as students. I am grateful for those life changing experiences that have helped me become a better person and teacher. And, I hope that my past experiences can help you become a better student while we work together to improve your academics.
