I hold a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences with a concentration in Statistics from Clemson University. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Meredith College. I began tutoring my freshman year in college. I tutored Calculus, Precalculus, Statistics, graded papers, substituted for teachers, and held group study sessions for the mathematics department while an undergraduate. This led me to an assistantship with the math department at Clemson University during graduate school. Here I taught Business Calculus and Statistics while grading papers and holding office hours. After graduate school, I spent nine years as a statistician with a defense contractor, big six consulting firm, and a couple of internet start-ups. During my consulting career, I frequently found myself in tutoring roles throughout the job, helping colleagues with learning new software and new analysis techniques.
Since my second child's birth, I've practiced the art of teaching math to my own creating a love of math in both of my children. I look forward to continuing this passion with your student. I hope to bring patience to the table and take time to understand where your student is with a particular subject. I look forward to filling in any holes that may be hindering his or her understanding and to help push your student forward with progress in their appreciation of the subject. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and to learn more about working with me as your tutor.
