I earned my B.S. in physics (with minors in math and chemistry) in 2013. At my undergrad institution, I spent an average of 10 hours per week tutoring other college students in math (from pre-algebra to calculus), chemistry, and physics. After college, I earned my Master's in physics from the University of Maryland, College Park. I tutored and worked as a teaching assistant throughout graduate school. After graduation, I carried my love of education into a teaching position at a school in Reston, VA. I teach math (Algebra II through AP Calculus BC) and physics (introductory and AP Physics C Mechanics).

I love using the expertise I've built up over the years to help other students succeed. For me, the most rewarding part of tutoring is seeing a student go from struggling in a class to eventually being able to say, "Oh, I get it!" I hope you'll pick me to help you with your tutoring need.

Math and science can be intimidating, but I'll break it down for you!

Responsive, kind, talented tutor

Erin jumped in on short notice to work with my daughter on AP Calculus summer homework when we realized that she did not understand the work. And after only one session, felt immediately more competent and empowered to tackle tough material. We hope that she will continue to be her tutor throughout the year.

Great tutor

Erin was extremely helpful to me during my calculus course. She was patient, flexible with my schedule (during my Summer course), and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone. She also helped make calculus interesting and fun. I'm sad that I no longer have any courses she can tutor me in, but glad that I got a chance to work with her.

Friendly and helpful tutor.

Erin is very quick when it comes to SAT practice exams. She has taught me many shortcuts that are beneficial in answering questions in a timely fashion. I also want to thank her for meeting with me on such a short notice on Monday (5/22/17) to go over some last minute physics material. I was having a test on Tuesday, and I was not understanding some of the topics that would be on the exam. She willingly met with me the same day I asked for help, and I did better on the exam than I would have done if I did not meet with her.

Helped my college student prepare for a Calculus final

Erin was very supportive in helping my college student prepare for a math final. She prepared a plan leading up to the final to get through all the work. My daughter feels comfortable working with her and likes her tutoring style.

Great tutor

Erin is patient, knowledgeable and available even when we're not in a session. Her background in math and science is apparent and helpful in dissecting difficult topics like integrals and the rules of natural logs and logs. Really appreciate all her help!

Wonderful tutor

My daughter received chemistry & calculus for freshman college courses. Erin was extremely helpful to her for both subjects. My daughter will see Erin again for another session & expects to use her through the remainder of the semester.
