George Mason University (Chemistry)
Hi! My name is Ben. I attended Brooke Point high school in Stafford, VA where I graduated with an Honors Diploma. Currently, I am in my junior year at George Mason University. I am working towards a B.Sc. in chemistry with a minor in physics. Consequently, I also have a strong background in mathematics.
I enjoy teaching and hope to one day teach college level courses. My other future goals are to earn a Ph.D in chemistry and pursue a research career. For now, though, I want to help others achieve their goals by enabling them to have a deeper understanding of the material they are learning in class.
If you are struggling with high school math, don't worry. You are not alone! Many high school students across the nation have trouble excelling in their math and science programs because too much time is spent in class memorizing the correct way to tackle a problem instead of learning why it's the correct way. My goal as a math and chemistry tutor will be to help you: have a deeper understanding of your course material, be able to work through problems quickly and efficiently, and grow as a student.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals! Hi! My name is Ben. I charge $25 for the first hour and $20 for each successive hour.
Ben was so helpful and patient. I really appreciated how he broke everything down for me in a way that I could understand. He also introduced new concepts to me that I hadn't learned before. I look forward to our next session thank you.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I successfully completed the set of calculus courses that the typical scientist or engineer takes during their college curriculum. I personally love calculus as a subject and as a tool for understanding and solving problems in other fields. I have a firm belief that everyone can understand calculus, and that everyone should. Whether you are a scientist trying to describe the universe or a businessman trying to optimize profit, calculus is a must.
I am a senior in the George Mason University chemistry program.
