About Philip

I am a legal researcher and writer, as well as, a legal tutor. My academic and professional training, combined with my passion and dedication, make me a strong legal tutor.

Further, I maintain a positive attitude and employ excellent communication skills. I take pride in my work and enjoy serving clients by providing quality legal tutoring services. Even while in academia, I often tutored my colleagues and served as a research assistant for various professors. As a result of my experience, I take a very understanding approach to tutoring. My first goal is to identify the needs of the student.

Essentially, I want to assess the students strengths and weaknesses. Then, I will develop a custom approach to promote growth in understanding and alleviate the anxiety associated with misunderstanding. Then, I show the client the work product expected of them and provide strategies for achieving the desired result. I help students understand the theories and interests behind laws and show students how to apply law to facts while taking into account the interests behind the laws.

In addition, I have provided model answers to past clients, as well as, other literature which enhances legal understanding. Overall, I am well versed in business law, contracts, torts, disability law, civil rights, criminal law and property law. As one who has supported litigation in a variety of capacities, I truly understand the skills needed to solve complex legal issues. Having drafted pleadings ranging from a foreclosure complaint to a divorce complaint, I bring forth skills and competencies that can be drawn upon in providing legal tutoring services to client.

I am an outstanding tutor because I love learning and also greatly enjoy helping others tackle challenging concepts. I am most grateful for the opportunity to help others in legal education because I feel the legal field is a forum to positively impact the lives of many others.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
