Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Mathematics has always been a subject that I have excelled in and I have experience tutoring my classmates in high school and serving as a teacher's assistant during the same time. I have helped out with homework assignments, quiz set ups, test preparations, and grading exams. Beyond school, I have worked at a credit union where I have spent time applying what I have learned in school to real life situations and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Algebra II was my favorite subject along pre-calculus/trigonometry in high school mostly because of the 2 teachers. Their methods of teaching are something that I have used with my cousins for their math classes graduating high school this year pursuing careers in engineering, medicine, and psychology. The same techniques were helpful in college too with subjects like statistics and Calculus and helping my classmates get better grades in classes and exams. I hope to apply what I have learned in school, college, and working at a bank to my tutoring lessons in order to prepare my students for real life experiences using mathematics.

Mathematics can be as fun as one wants it to be and I have always learned that with elementary school math, it is important to play around with numbers and understand the subject playfully. Kids learn through whatever process feels most comfortable and having worked with my siblings, cousins, and neighborhood kids age groups ranging from kindergarten-high school, I understand the importance of learning math early in order to get a kick start for future curriculums. Games, prizes, and math need to make sense to kids and thats what I set out to achieve with the parents and their young ones.
