I'm a Virginia Certified Teacher, Georgia State Certified Teacher, and Daycare Center Director. In addition, I'm an Early Childhood Trainer licensed by Bright From The Start Trainer (DECAL), also a licensed CDA Professional Development Specialist and online instructor/tutor who enjoys an interactive fun approach to learning that is productive and fearless.

My academic credentials include a PhD in Christian Education, Master's of Science in Elementary Education/specialized concentration in Early Childhood Learning, Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education/minor in Psychology and a Certificate of Theology in Interdenominational Studies.

My specialty is working with the struggling learner. I am certified to teach and coach/tutor Elementary through Middle school students, and adults. I am available and certified, to prep students taking the Virginia SOL's and Benchmark tests, ACT, PSAT; to provide GED test prep, and coaching for all subjects.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I am a graduate of the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) of Atlanta earning a certificate in Theology (18 month course), conferred May 6, 2011. I have a Doctorate of Philosophy in Christian Education (July, 2010). In addition, I am certified as a Sunday School Teacher teacher and passed the four month Cokesbury training course with an 85% proficiency rate (2007).

I teach Sunday School and biblical studies on Sundays and Wednesdays at my church. In addition, I currently serve (PreK through High School) and have served for the prior two years (PreK through Senior Adults), as the Superintendent of Sunday and Church School at my church - St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, GA.

I instruct students from PreK through High School in Ecclesiastical studies, schedule teachers, plan lessons, and develop curriculum. My duties also include writing lessons that provide a firm foundation in scriptural knowledge.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a Georgia State Certified teacher. I have been certified by the state of Georgia, since 2003 to present.

I have served as the Math Chairperson for a Georgia school for six years and lead science teacher. Why Mathematics Chair when my content specialty is Social Science? Well, many teachers are not comfortable or enthusiastic about he subject and Mathematics (Science) is my strength. I instruct Mathematics in a very patient and thorough manner - using a step-by-step approach.

I was Previously certified and licensed as New York State Common Branch teacher (1999-2003), upon relocating to the state of Georgia.

I am certified to teach all common branch subjects within Elementary (Pre-K through 5th) and Middle School divisions (4th-8th.) My content area of specialization includes Social Science for Elementary and Middle School grades, as prescribed by the state of Georgia to instruct grades 4th through 5th and 6th through 8th in this discipline area. Social science includes the areas of anthropology, history, economics, geography, government, philosophy, politics, and social studies.

My Religious instruction includes a foundational knowledge and an intensive thematic approach rich in Christian theology and tradition based on the foundational doctrine; the Holy Bible which includes the Torah (Old Testament/Gospel), New Covenant (New Testament), Bible Study series, and Wesleyan teachings.

Sign Language

I teach baby sign language as well as beginner/intermediate ASL using TNAV (Time, Noun, Adjective, Verb) structure. In addition, at the student's request I can combine ASL with Signed English (finger spelling.) I am available to teach individual, small or large groups of beginners and also to instruct those who may be preparing ministries of worship to assist in communicating a the message of a church program or sermon.

Social Studies

I am a Georgia State Certified teacher. I have been certified by the state of Georgia, since 2003 to present content learning for the subject matter of Social Science.

I have deliver content instruction in Social Studies for students of Elementary grades (4th through 5th) and Middle School (6th through 8th), and High School (9th through 12th) tutoring them in learning about customs, culture and society. In addition, I have instructed students in a foundational approach using lesson plans and activities related to the foundation of Early America, The Thirteen Colonies, Independence War, The French and Indian War, The Revolutionary War, The Civil War, Our New Nation, The U.S Constitution, Bill of Rights, American History, World History, and Government.

One of the staples for learning requires that successful students exhibit good study skills.

I am a Georgia/Virginia state certified teacher and online instructor of a private academy and public school. Part of my duties and responsibilities as a teacher, coach/tutor, and facilitator is to assist students in developing a successful method of study.

I am the entrepreneur of a proven program/methodology and curriculum that provides students with a proven methodology that allows the student to develop and choose from a variety of study tools to effectively identify and manage their unique and individual learning styles. My program teaches students how to construct study schedules, incorporate time management strategies, and effective study habits. I teach students how to develop effective test taking strategies, note taking, and study skills.

One of my primary goals as a teacher/instructor is to facilitate and teach active listening, speaking, reading for comprehension, notetaking, stress management, time management, testing taking, and memorization skills. These are some of the topics addressed in my study skills guides and sessions.

The application of study skills concepts and principles taught in my program assist to increase performance in school/grades and a students ability to learn in general which is always beneficial to the learner for the rest of their life!

I am available to teach study skills to the early learner, high school student just trying to survive, freshman in college looking to get ahead, a teacher seeking study skills resources for pupils.

The study skills instruction, tutorials, and resource materials that I provide are easily adaptable for any area of study.
