I love learning, and I really enjoy passing on my knowledge to others so they can better themselves. I have an undergraduate degree in Healthcare Management, an undergraduate in Nutrition Science, a certificate in Medical Coding and Billing, and a Master's in Healthcare Administration so I know how difficult school can be sometimes.
I was a tutor at Kaplan University for three years where I helped proofread and develop student's written assignments, and answer questions about various classes related to Science, Math, and English. I have also been a mentor in a 5th grade reading program for the last six years, where I have helped elementary students develop a love of reading and comprehension.
With a background in healthcare I have both classroom and hands-on experience with anatomy and physiology, biology, and nutrition. For the past 10 years I have worked in a clinical setting assessing and treating patients. For the last four years I have been tutoring students in anatomy, physiology, and various aspects of nutrition.
I am available most nights after 5pm and on weekends. I am open to travelling to meet students or meeting online. I look forward to helping you advance your knowledge, improve your grades, and helping you meet your goals and ambitions. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated with a Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding from Kaplan University in 2013. Since then I have been working in a medical facility performing work directly related to billing and coding. This includes working with patients and insurance companies to get bills paid, coding for providers, and auditing files to ensure proper documentation is included with payment requests.
I graduated with a B.S. in Nutrition Science from Kaplan University in 2012. I have served continuously on the board of SNAK (Student Nutrition Association of Kaplan) since then, and have worked in the nutrition field for the past 3 years. I don't have any experience formally teaching nutrition, but I have informally tutored and mentored nutrition students as part of my duties on the board of SNAK.
