I love to teach, and I love to learn! They go hand in hand. With experience teaching English in middle and high schools, ESL to children and adults, yoga and meditation to children and adults, and several years experience as a corporate trainer in a law environment, I have a large and eclectic wealth of experience from which to draw.
I specialize in grammar, writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary, creative fiction, public speaking, presentations, leadership skills, time management skills, instructional design, ESL and sociology. In every lesson I make a point to develop the emotional intelligence of my students, and this progress is often what students value the most sessions.
What do I love most about tutoring? I love to make meaningful relationships and help others achieve their goals!
I earned TEFL certificate and taught ESL in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I also taught Speech elective at a high school. I am an excellent public speaker as trainer for a law firm. I have taken multiple fiction writing courses outside of degrees.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received a Master's Degree in Education from Emory and Henry College. I went on to pass the Praxis and Praxis II English in the top three percentile. I am very comfortable with the material.
I have many years of teaching experience, and I taught a Speech elective at the high school level. I also spent two years delivering training to lawyers and business professionals. In both contexts, I coached individuals to become better public speakers.
I have a Bachelor's degree from James Madison University in sociology. I spent most of my electives on additional sociology courses. I especially enjoy Sociology of the Environment and Critical Theory.
I have a 200 hour yoga teaching certificate from the Sivananda Yoga Farm. I have been practicing for over 4 years. I have taught children's yoga, gentle yoga and regular yoga classes.
