“**Knowledgable, Patient, Understanding, Wonderful!**”

After a rewarding teaching career in independent college preparatory schools, I retired in June 2014 to focus on tutoring individuals. Over the years I have enjoyed the opportunity to present graphing calculator workshops at mathematics and education conferences including the Teachers Teaching with Technology International Conference, and I make

Jeff is approved to conduct lessons through Wyzant Online. Wyzant Online allows students and tutors to work remotely via video, audio, and collaborative whiteboard tools. For more information about how online tutoring works, check out Wyzant Online.

If you’re interested in online lessons, message Jeff to get started.

We've only had two sessions so far, but he's taught me more in two hours than I learned solo in the entire first semester of my online Calculus course. I've always considered myself a dedicated online student, but Calculus was just not clicking for me. I was worried I wouldn't pass the class, and I luckily came across Jeff on Wyzant (thanks, Bing!), and he replied to my e-mail almost immediately. Extremely helpful, very kind, and knowledgable about everything math. He's very patient, great at communicating, and a wonderful (retired) Professor. Will remain tutoring weekly with him throughout the end of my semester. A++++

Jeff provided a great first lesson today. His ability to teach in a visual manner with diagrams and such was extremely helpful for our daughter as she is a visual learner. She found it very easy to follow him and is looking forward to her next lesson. Much thanks

Thank you, Ralph. I enjoy working with your daughter, as she is very motivated, bright and creative. She enjoys discussing the methods we have applied and seems to appreciate being able to challenging material.

Math:

ACT Math,
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I taught all levels of high school mathematics (inclucing AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Algebra I & II, PreCalculus, Trigonometry and Geometry) for over 30 years and helped individual students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT and Praxis 1.

During my long career in independent college prep schools, my courses included Algebra 1 & 2, AP Calculus, College Algebra & Trigonometry and Geometry. After I retired from the classroom last June (2015) I continued tutoring individuals and enjoy the opportunity to focus on the most reward aspect of teaching: helping students achieve their personal goals.

During my teaching career I taught AP Calculus AB & BC as well as advanced courses such as Finite Mathematics and Matrix Theory. I enjoy theory as much as applications, and can help students become more proficient in applying graphing calculators (particularly TI-84 and TI-89).

During my career in independent college prep schools I taught Geometry.

I have a B.A. in mathematics and an MBA with emphasis in Statistics. I taught a variety of courses in college preparatory schools for 35 years before retiring last June to focus on tutoring individuals. I have taught AP Calculus, AP Statistics, PreCalculus, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, PreAlgebra, SAT & ACT prep courses and post-AP Calculus courses.

I enjoy working with Statistics students because of my experience teaching AP Statistics and Probability/Statistics in independent college preparatory schools. In addition, I focused on applied statistics during my graduate program. I have presented several workshops at professional conferences in which I demonstrated the power of the statistical functions of TI-84 graphing calculator.

My experience includes 35 years teaching upper level high school mathematics courses in independent college prep schools, including Trigonometry and AP Calculus.
