I worked in the Richmond Public School System for 10 years. I taught k-5 and special education, VGLA, VAAP. After retirement I worked as an ERI (Early Reading intervention Specialist) for 3 years. I have worked as a behaviorist as well. I approach with dedication and love for my clients. I am gentle but firm and will ask of my clients their very best, but I will help them get there.
I graduated from Virginia Union University, Samuel DeWitt Proctor, School of Theology, Aug. 15, 2015, although I finished work in July 2013. My GPA is 3.68 and I worked very hard to achieve it. I believe with the right tutoring and work ethic, we can achieve great things. I am down to earth and can be a fun person when the time is right. Learning can be fun! All of my students increased their Pals Scores each year I tutored. Yes, I am very proud of our progress. Let us show what we can do together. If you will follow, I will get you there, smile.
I am a trained Theologian and graduated from Seminary: Master of Arts in Christian Education, GPA 3.68. I worked as a reading tutor for 3 years and more. I prepared my students with low scores to perform at and above their grade level every year. Vocabulary is a strong point with me, because when we know words we can read. I found that when my students could read and knew words, it was easier to write their thoughts clearly.
While in the Richmond Public School System, I tutored many subjects at different grade levels. I believe practice will make perfect and with imagination we can make it interesting getting prepared. We had fun learning new things with hands on if possible.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Virginia Union University, School of Theology. I graduated, Aug. 15, 2015, with GPA 3.68. I have taken, Teaching Practicum, grade A. I have taken, Curriculum Design and Theory, grade A.
I have held long term teaching and other positions in the Richmond Public Schools for 10 years in grades k-5. I have participated in SOL for three years. I have helped prepare students for their SOL test in many disciplines. I was very happy with their success.
